Each of these spaces is perceived at a different moment - a book is also a sequence of moments. A book is not a case of words, nor a bag of words, nor a bearer of words.” – Ulises Carrión
Medium über Medium
Over the past decade, clay has experienced a significant resurgence in the visual arts. Alongside exhibitions, the catalogue remains a crucial medium for presenting art, preserving knowledge, and making it accessible to the public.
In my bachelor’s project Medium über Medium, I explore how contemporary clay and ceramic art can be conveyed through a catalogue and investigate the potential of the book as a physical object. The project focuses on alternative ways of presenting artistic positions and examines how content can be communicated visually and tactilely in relation to the textual level.
